Inspiring Jews | A Place for Every Jew

Inspiring Jews is a place where Jewish people come to grow in their faith and Torah. Thanks to my friend and brother, Chemie Wyne, I’ve been able to attend Shabbat services and classes where I can truly be myself without feeling judged. Even though I’m not the most religious person, I’m trying to become one, and everyone has welcomed me with open arms.

The Wyne family has always shown me so much love. Even before Inspiring Jews, they would invite me over for Shabbat dinners, and I’ve known them for quite a while. I’ll never forget that when my first book, Shabbat in Chicago, came out, they were one of the first families to come out and support me. They also shared my story with other members of the community because they truly care about helping one another. I’m grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community.

Inspiring Jews is a warm and friendly environment! To begin Shabbat, we have an enjoyable service followed by a delicious Shabbat dinner prepared by Rebbetzin Wyne.

The Shabbat service is spiritual, enjoyable, and provides easy learning. Following the service is a very special kiddush each week prepared by Lucy Hawkins. It varies each Shabbat. Sunday morning we have a brunch and learn which is most satisfying and educational. Chemie conducts a discussion of the weeks parsha.

I love attending INSPIRING JEWS because every class leaves me feeling uplifted, inspired, and connected. The warm atmosphere, meaningful learning, and delicious Kiddush every Shabbat makes it something I always look forward to.

You won't get lost in the crowd at IJ.

You will find a supportive group of Jews at different levels, all trying to figure out a way to navigate this crazy world.

INSPIRING JEWS made me feel genuinely welcome while I was living in Las Vegas temporarily. Chemie went out of his way to make me feel like part of the community from day one. Some of the friendships I made at the Shabbos meals have stayed with me long after I left Las Vegas.

At Inspiring Jews we are building a foundation of Jews inspired by great teachers with upbeat messages. We are there because we are learning how to use Judaism to improve our relationships and our lives.
